Deck Therapeutics is developing THDG3, a first-in-class intravenous omega-3 therapeutic designed to protect the brain (preventing up to 87% of brain tissue death) from acute hypoxic-ischemic injuries. The company's novel diglyceride emulsion technology enables rapid blood-brain barrier penetration to address conditions like neonatal HIE (Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy) and acute ischemic stroke, where current treatment options are limited or ineffective.

First-in-class intravenous emulsion of diglycerides (DG) of bioactive EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. THDG3 features uniquely small nanoparticles (~110 nm) that enable rapid blood-brain barrier penetration and cellular uptake. The therapy works via multiple mechanisms including reducing mitochondrial ROS, preserving calcium homeostasis, blocking apoptosis, anti-neuroinflammation, and preventing excitotoxicity. Demonstrated 87% brain damage reversal in preclinical studies with a 6-hour treatment window after injury. Single IV dose administration requires no brain scans or special equipment and can be given in ambulance settings.

Large animal model in Piglets has proven that THDG3 separately or in conjunction with Hypothermia provides stronger results than just Hypothermia alone.
