About

Santol is an advisor-first estate settlement platform that turns paperwork into a settled estate. It uses AI to read and extract data from documents like death certificates, statements, deeds, and court filings, automatically builds a statutory task checklist based on date of death and state of domicile, maintains a live estate inventory rolled up from extracted documents, and provides a secure workspace for executors and attorneys to collaborate without email ping-pong. Updates

New features

- Updated website with updated information regarding Santol progress

New features

- Attorneys, paralegals, and CPAs invited to a case can now have their access renewed instantly if their link expires, no more getting locked out mid-case - Case notes now show the most recent entry first AI-drafted document requests now have their own dedicated review tab, easier to see what's waiting on your approval - Estate workspace layout improved: panels scroll independently instead of the whole page scrolling together - Added a quick sign-out option right in the estate workspace - Refreshed the Santol logo and branding across the app

New features

- Over the past few months, Santol has progressed from an estate workflow prototype into a coordination workspace with case management, document workflows, AI-assisted drafting, and multi-party e-signatures. - Recent main-branch launches include the estate workspace redesign, versioned document templates, sequential signing, signer verification, tamper evidence, and request-aware document validation. - The product now combines structured estate data, secure document handling, human-reviewed AI drafts, and role-based collaboration in one workflow. - The current branch is focused on improving usability through clearer notes, dedicated AI-generated drafts, better scrolling, stronger activity history, and a refined Santol brand experience. - The next product milestone is turning these capabilities into a polished, trust-focused coordination system that advisors, attorneys, and CPAs can use across the full estate-settlement process.

New features

- Hardened account security and access control, including proper session invalidation on access changes and a dependency vulnerability fix. - Completed a major accuracy and reliability push across document processing: fixed data-corruption bugs, expanded verification of AI-extracted data across many fields, fixed misclassification across several document types, and directly measured our hallucination rate for the first time (0% invented data on tested cases). - Extended document coverage: bank/checking statements now contribute correctly to estate totals, large file uploads no longer fail, and a real misclassification bug was caught and fixed through testing against actual customer-style documents. - Added compliance-relevant data governance: proper document deletion and case-level legal holds with 30-day retention, protecting documents that may matter in a dispute. - Onboarded new pilot users

New improvements

- Deadlines are now state-specific and track what starts the clock, not just the due date. - Every legal date in the product cites a source, and we monitor those sources for changes. - The system now says "undetermined" instead of guessing when a document doesn't state something. - Unrelated documents are rejected at intake rather than parsed as estate records. - Better handling of duplicate uploads, executed dates, and executor vs trustee roles. - The AI assistant keeps persistent per-case threads. - Closed a security gap: removing a user's access now ends their active session immediately. - Added another pilot advisor.

New Security updates

- Completed our first full accuracy measurement across the entire test suite. - Shipped a round of security hardening. - Deadlines now show whether a date is legally required or just a scheduling estimate. - Older cases automatically pick up newly added required tasks. - We now measure whether the AI refuses legal questions instead of assuming it does. - Added more advisors to the pilot.

Security fixes

- Only the right people can now connect accounts, sign documents, or upload files. - A document that's been voided can no longer be signed or downloaded. - Uploaded files are now checked against the real file on disk, not just what the browser says. - Our pilot law firms and RIAs are giving feedback. - Purchased santol.io and santol.us domains.

Bug fixes and house keeping

- Rebuilt the pricing model from a broken per-seat structure to case-volume tiers, benchmarked against real, verified competitor pricing. - Merged permission enforcement across signature requests, document uploads, and connection management. - Blocked signing and downloads on voided signature requests. - Validated uploaded file sizes against actual stored bytes instead of trusting client-supplied data. - Removed the unused legacy transfer ecosystem, roughly 21,000 lines, cutting maintenance surface and attack surface. - Built case activity notifications (email digest, deadline alerts), gate-verified, pending final deploy. - Audited the codebase directly to confirm real capabilities: document grounding, correction workflow, multi-role permissions, and where the gaps still are.

New Milestone

Product: - Shipped end-to-end extraction of full financial-plan reports: a 94-page advisor report now becomes a structured asset inventory in under a minute. - Beneficiary designations are now captured per account, including contingent and second-death tiers, and surfaced against the assets they govern. - Probate versus non-probate is classified only where the source documents support it; everything else is flagged for review rather than guessed. - Every extracted figure is traceable to the page it came from, and reviewers can open the source document in-app to check it. - Added honest partial-extraction reporting: when part of a document can't be read, the product names the pages instead of silently dropping them. - Repositioned from "estate settlement" to "estate administration," the term the profession actually uses. Validation - Running with pilot advisors on live accounts; expanding the pilot roster this month.
