About

Danu Water enables industrial facilities to move from open-loop to closed-loop wastewater management using next-generation electrodialysis technology. The company's proprietary multi-physics software model designs tailored hardware and operating conditions to recover 95%+ of the industrial wastewater ready for reuse, to customer-specified conditions. On the flip side, the remaining 5% concentrates unwanted contaminants, including toxic elements such as cyanide, or valuable commodities, such as zinc. We support customers irrespective of whether they are motivated to reduce freshwater requirements or to remove specific ions. Our tech delivers for industries ranging from textiles, paper & pulp, laundrettes, data centres, mining, and more.

Recovery System

A next-generation platform technology powered by Heila, Danu's proprietary multi-physics software model, simultaneously solves hundreds of equations to specify optimal hardware design and operating conditions for each customer's wastewater chemistry and water reuse requirements. The system recovers 95%+ of industrial wastewater as tunable low-conductivity water ready for reuse, closing the loop on industrial water use, reducing freshwater abstraction and chemical costs. The 5% (or less) of brine delivers removal of unwanted ions, supporting regulatory compliance and environmental safeguarding; and/or recovery of valuable elements, delivering a financial bonus. Products are not only tailored to customer needs but also financing which includes both CAPEX purchase and Water-as-a-Service (WaaS) subscription models.

Announcement of Industrial Pilot Deployment in Wales, UK

Our pilot unit, nicknamed Aren (the Welsh word for kidney), will be deployed at WEPA’s Bridgend site in Wales during October in its premiere. It has the capacity to process more than 300 L/min (that is over 400 m3/day) of industrial effluent and returning 90 – 95%+ of the water at a reduced conductivity ready for reuse. This size has been selected because of the modularity of the system, processing larger volumes of water will yield the same efficiency outcomes and energy will simply scale linearly with volume. Whilst we have lots of real world data on our compact unit (0.4 m3/day) we know that Aren is the game changer. With the data in hand, we will be taking this to paper mills to show them they can make a water sustainability change that also will give them financial savings.
